Liturgy Giggles

Today I took the girls to the Vesperal Divine Liturgy with 15 Old Testament readings. I was planning to only stay for the Lord I Call verses and a few of the Old Testament readings....at least until I read my assigned one, #3. The girls were doing so great we ended up staying through communion. How wonderful.

A couple giggles along the way. A wonderful new parishioner donated a toy box for our cry room to put the books and various other things that have migrated to church for the children. S and G opened it to discover it full of stuffed animals. I sifted through to make sure everything looked kosher and removed a remote controlled dog and a jump rope. I had visions of S running into the church jumping rope. Not a vision I wanted to see in reality. I obviously missed a few. Several minutes later I hear an Easter rock song. G found one of those dancing stuffed Easter animals. Yikes! Scoop that up, put it up high. About an hour later I hear a distressed orangutang. Double yikes!! Again, scooped up and put up high.

To make it through the Liturgy was Heavenly. The hymns are beautiful. To see J and S excitedly point out how Daddy had changed his vestments to white/gold. Amazing! I just wish midnight would hurry so we could get the real party started.
