Weekend

We had a fun filled weekend. I'll share the highlights....

*Surprised Maw at her birthday dinner Friday night. Totally fun with my whole family together, all 13 of us.
*Went out to Maw and Pawpa's after dinner. Did you know it takes less than 3 minutes for five children ages six and under to destroy a grandparent's home?
*Had breakfast with Maw's Yaya friends Saturday morning. Didn't know my 20 month old could down 2 servings of eggs, half a biscuit and half a huge pancake.
*St. Barbara Orthodox Church's pysanky egg sale. Beautiful eggs to peruse. Also ran into my dear friend Lori there.
*Hives Sunday morning. Couldn't stand it. Took Benadryl. Had a hard time corraling the girls at church while simultaneously keeping my eyes open. Lesson learned....never take Benadryl when you have to parent alone for The Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great.
*Sunday afternoon we attended the installation of Charles Mallie as the new associate pastor at Zion Lutheran. He and his wife were friends during our seminary days in Indiana. The homilist for the service was also a good friend from those old days. We had fun reminiscing with them while our kids ran around like lunatics on the playground. Good ole Lutheran potluck afterward. Meat, meat and more meat. Do Lutherans observe Lent these days?
