Doctored Out

Today was an intense doctor day.

9:15am
G had her two year old well child checkup. She moved from the 50% on weight and height to the 75% for weight and 90% for height during the past six months. Two immunization shots and two vials of blood for bloodwork made for lots of crying and screaming of 'All done!'

10:30am
I was scheduled for my dentist trip for two fillings. Because of the extra blood work, I didn't arrive until 10:50am. Hubby met me with S to pick up G. Two hour dental visit. That's two hours of holding my mouth open wide for a short little Filipino dentist who is 38 weeks pregnant. I swear she drilled for 40 minutes. At one point, with tears in my eyes, I asked her how much longer. She said ten minutes. I asked if it was really only ten or was it similar to the ten minutes an obstetrician would tell you about. She smiled. My jaw ached. My mouth was numb. I needed a drink.

1:15pm
I arrived home to quickly but carefully eat a grilled cheese sandwich.

1:45pm
S had her four year well child checkup. She's healthy but in need of a more thorough vision check. She measured 20/30 in her left eye. That eye also seems to be a bit 'lazy'. Hmmm. Four immunizations.

Needless to say, I am tired. It's 7:30pm. I think I'm going to bed.

But before I do, some interesting stats...

J at 24 months:
weight: 24 pounds 1 ounce
height: 32.5 inches

S at 25 months:
weight: 25 pounds
height: 34 inches

G at 24 months:
weight: 28 pounds 5 ounces
height: 35.5 inches

There are two methods my doc uses to determine projected height.
Method 1: Double height at second birthday.
Method 2: Add mother's height and father's height. Add five inches for males or subtract five inches for females. Divide by two.

So in a nutshell...

Method 1:
J will be five foot five.
S will be five foot eight.
G will be five foot eleven.

Method 2:
All girls would measure five foot eight.

Any of my loyal readers have predictions about which will be true?

P.S. In the process of getting ready for a bath, I discovered one of G's rewards. A lovely sticker of Patrick, stuck in my ... wait for it ... armpit. Good times.

Isn't J already like 5'5"???

I think all of the girls are going to be the perfect height!

(and it sounds like they will all have cute glasses, too...)
