Blue Bell

We headed to Brenham, Texas today to tour the Blue Bell Creamery. It was fantastic! The best part was the free scoop of ice cream at the end of the tour. As you can see, G loved hers.

Funny Canadian story for the day: We have been teaching the RBs about fire ants. How to spot them, how to avoid them, etc. Today outside Blue Bell, hubby looks over and Niko is on the ground, digging in a 'dirt' pile. You guessed it, fire ants. Yikes! Hubby hollered, Kim screamed, Niko danced wildly. Thank goodness, no bites. For the rest of the day, the kids have been running around screaming, 'Fire ants! Fire ants!' It's been quite comical.

If Niko starts twitching or wakes up screaming "fire ants!!!" we may have to seek counselling. At least now we know what a fire ant mount looks like. Blue Bell is the best icecream I have ever had!

My dear husband was plagued by fire ants when we were staying in Florida for two months in 1998. He got bit so many times!

And it wasn't fire ants, but we all started having nightmares and daymares when we lived at St. Nicholas Ranch--we had SUCH a problem with ants. At first just black ants, non-biting, but then it started to be red biting ants and we'd feel them on our legs and then they'd bite....we started thinking we might need counseling to get over it! After we moved away, it was a couple of months until we didn't feel phantom ants on our legs. Ugh.

Look at those smiles, what a great picture.
Sorry about the fire ants. My kids do the same when we pass a pile of dirt now. All you hear is "fire ants Mommy" lol
Gotta just love Texas huh?
