Figs and Fireants

Today we took the girls to pick figs at King's Orchard in Plantersville. It was super windy. I was worried one of them might blow away while carrying their plastic grocery sack.

We learned lots about figs from the workers and hope to make fig preserves tomorrow. One downside today was the fireants. They seemed to be everywhere. We are still trying to teach J that if she is getting bitten, she needs to jump away from where she was standing before she throws a tantrum. Screaming that they are biting you while standing in them isn't very effective.

We saw a bird's next built in one of the fig plants and even saw a millipede crawling through the grass. An enjoyable Saturday!
